Recipe: Great Granny's Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 5 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° . Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- Mix in flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt until soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into small balls and place 2-inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
- Flatten each cookie with a glass that has been dipped in sugar.
- Bake for 10-13 minutes or until edges start to brown.
- Cool on wire racks. Store in airtight container.
